MARKETING ACTION STEP # 2
BRANDING DEFINES YOUR BUSINESS
Welcome to Week 2 of the Weekly Action Steps.
How did you do last week? Were you able to get your listing on Google My Business?
Let me know if you need any help. Better yet, join the Facebook Group and let everyone else know how you did.
This week we are talking about Branding, the overall look and feel of your business. Your brand is the personality of your business. It is how you are perceived by your target audience, whether through traditional promotional strategies,in the digital world or in person.
Your brand is your face to the world, and it must be immediately recognizable and represent you and your company in a consistently professional manner.
Take a look at all aspects of your marketing and make sure they work together. Do they have a similar look and feel?
Your branding should be consistent across all of your marketing materials from your website and social media to your traditional printed items.
Are you using the same fonts everywhere? Are the colours, shading and logo consistent? What about company uniforms and promotional products?
Branding extends far beyond your marketing materials directly to the fabric of your business. Is the telephone being answered in a professional manner? Do your employees embrace your Mission and Vision statements in their customer interactions? Do all points of contact with customers represent you in the manner you want to be represented?
As you go through the rest of the week view your business through the eyes of a customer or potential customer. Try to see what they are seeing. Is this the brand image you want them to see? Do you need to make any changes?
An important aspect of developing a solid marketing strategy is knowing what to look for. Showing a consistent brand to the world is a good place to start.
Go for a walk in bare feet and feel the grass poking your toes. It’s beginning to feel more like summer each day.
Laugh loudly, smile often and, if you can, call your mother.
