Each January I choose 3 words to guide me through the year. I can’t take credit for the idea, it comes from one of my favourite business writers, Chris Brogan. You can find more information about it here.
Instead of coming up with New Year’s Resolutions, which do NOT work, the 3 words help keep me focused and act as a reminder of my preferred direction.
When choosing the words I reflect on the previous year then look to the upcoming year to see the changes I want to make and whether I can summarize these changes in a few words.
This year my words are:
Secure: Achieve greater financial security by establishing different revenue streams.
Flow: Continue to learn to adapt, accept, and be present. I will be the river, not the volcano, and effect change through tireless and continuous effort.
Complete: Walk the walk, not just talk the talk.
The past year was difficult, but afforded many opportunities for learning and growing. I will build on this in 2017.
In a previous post, I talked about my love for and fascination with fractals. It’s difficult to choose effective photos for business blog posts, so this year my posts will be accompanied by images of fractals as a reminder of our unlimited potential for greatness.
